Paperwork Needed to Sell or Buy a Car in Illinois
1. Vehicle Title
The original vehicle title must be signed by both the seller and the buyer. Ensure all information is accurate and complete.

2. Bill of Sale
A Bill of Sale is required to document the transaction details, including the sale price and date. You can use the Illinois Bill of Sale form available here.
3. Odometer Disclosure Statement
If the vehicle is less than 10 years old, an Odometer Disclosure Statement is required.

4. Notice of Sale
Complete and submit a Notice of Sale to the Illinois Secretary of State.
