How to Correctly Fill Out an Iowa Vehicle Title
1. Complete the Assignment Section
On the back of the title, the seller must complete the assignment section, which includes:
- Buyer's full name and address.
- Odometer reading at the time of sale.
- Sale date and price.
- Signatures of both the buyer and the seller.

2. Fill Out the Application for Title and/or Registration
The buyer must complete the Application for Certificate of Title and/or Registration (Form 411007). This form includes:
- Vehicle details (make, model, year, VIN).
- Buyer's personal information.
- Previous owner details.
- Odometer reading and purchase price.

3. Notarize the Signatures if Required
In some cases, notarization of the signatures on the title may be required. Check with your local County Treasurer’s office for specific requirements.
