How to Correctly Fill Out an Indiana Vehicle Title

1. Complete the Odometer Disclosure 

Federal law requires the odometer reading at the time of sale. Ensure this is accurately filled out on the title.

2. Fill in Buyer and Seller Information 

Both parties must complete their respective sections with accurate names and addresses.

 

3. Date of Sale and Purchase Price 

Include the date of sale and the purchase price. This information is essential for tax purposes. 

 

4. Signatures 

Both the buyer and the seller must sign the title in the designated areas. 

 

5. Lien Release (if applicable) 

If there is a lien on the vehicle, ensure that the lienholder has released their interest by signing off on the title.
