How to Correctly Fill Out a Georgia Vehicle Title

1. Obtain the Car Title 

Ensure you have the original car title. The seller should provide this, and it must be signed by both the seller and buyer.

2. Fill Out the Seller's Section 

The seller needs to complete their section accurately. This typically includes: 
- Signature of the seller(s) 
- Printed name of the seller(s) 
- Date of sale 
- Odometer reading at the time of sale

3. Fill Out the Buyer's Section 

The buyer must complete their section accurately, which includes: 
- Signature of the buyer(s) 
- Printed name of the buyer(s) 
- Address of the buyer(s)

4. Complete the Odometer Disclosure Statement 

Federal law requires the seller to provide an odometer reading for vehicles less than 10 years old.

5. Verify the VIN 

Ensure the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the title matches the VIN on the vehicle.

6. Pay Fees and Submit Documents 

Take the completed title, proof of insurance, and Form MV-1 to your local County Tag Office. Be prepared to pay the necessary fees.
