Does a Seller Remove License Plates in Oregon
In Oregon, when selling a vehicle, the seller generally does not remove the license plates from the car. The license plates stay with the vehicle for the new owner to use, and it is the buyer's responsibility to transfer the title and register the vehicle under their name with the Oregon DMV.
However, if the seller wants to keep the license plates for a different vehicle or for personal reasons, they may do so. In such cases, they should inform the buyer and ensure proper procedures are followed for transferring ownership and updating the DMV records.
